PA Arts for Students with Special Needs

Why does this wiki exist?

Arts educators often encounter 3 major hurdles as they work with special needs students:

• Students are often mainstreamed into the arts classrooms with little or no support.
• There are few local resources available to learn about the arts and students with special needs.
• School districts sometimes misintepret regulations and arts educators do not see IEPs or GIEPs.

This wiki has been created to address these hurdles and give educators and administrators the tools they need to help all students succeed in the arts.
